The City Attorney and staff act as legal advisors on all legal matters for the City Council and City Manager, City boards and commissions and City staff. They draft and/or review and approve contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other legal documents. They represent the interests of the City government in court and administrative procedings and prosecute violations of the Municipal Code. The City Attorney's Office represents the City government and therefore cannot provide legal advice to individual members of the public.
