Doing Business with the City Just Got Easier
The City of Moreno Valley currently is upgrading to a new development services processing system called Accela Civic Platform (ACP). ACP is an automated system for planning applications, permits, inspections, code compliance, cashiering, and all aspects of the development and municipal code process. The goal of this project, which we are calling SimpliCITY, is to make doing business in the City of Moreno Valley easier for our customers.
As a part of this transition, all the Development Services operations and service counters will be unavailable from 7:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2 through 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016. Full Development Services will resume on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
All Development Services offices will be closed for program implementation including
- Fire Prevention
- Land Development
- Special Districts
- Building and Safety
- Code and Neighborhood Services
All Cashier services including credit card processing will also be unavailable. City Hall will be open to the public on those dates for all other City business.
The Moreno Valley Development Services Team is an interdepartmental group comprised of the City’s Planning, Land Development, Building & Safety, Code & Neighborhood Services, Fire Prevention, Special Districts, Transportation, and Community Services divisions. The new system is a cloud-based solution that provides both on-site and mobile City staff access to development projects and permits, all associated workflows and processes, and will eventually allow customers to complete many of their requests, inquiries, and transactions online.
The first phase go-live date was chosen to minimize the impact on City customers as decades of data are converted for access in the new system, and thousands of current records are rebuilt to take advantage of the new processing technology. As the final step in this 18 month project, the entire team and their support staff must devote all of their attention to these tasks.
