Heacock Street Channel Improvements

This project is part of a multi-jurisdictional effort between March JPA, Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District (District), and the City of Moreno Valley. This project consists of three improvement phases along the Heacock Channel. Phase I (March ARB and March JPA property) improvements are proposed between Cactus Avenue and approximately 3,600 feet south of Cactus Avenue. Phase II (City property) extends the improvements to approximately 6,200 feet south of Cactus Avenue. Phase III (March ARB property) extends the improvements to the Perris Valley Storm Drain Lateral A bridge, just south of Krameria Avenue. This project will improve the drainage in the area by reducing flooding potential to surrounding properties. The City is participating in the design cost of the Heacock Street Channel improvements with March JPA providing project oversight in the design and environmental phases of the project. The project is currently in the design phase, which is scheduled to be completed by March 2016. Once the design is completed and the environmental jurisdictional agencies provide their concurrence, the project will be put out for construction bids by the District.  The District will be constructing the facilities based on the availability of funding. Construction is anticipated to occur between September 2016 and September 2017.
