City Public Works Department wins Project of the Year Award

On June 5, 2003, the City of Moreno Valley was selected as the winner of the 2002 Project of the Year Award of the American Public Works Association (APWA), Inland Empire. The project being recognized is the Myers Avenue Street Improvements project. This project constructed a two-lane roadway with parking on both sides, sidewalks, curb and gutters, driveways, storm drains, fences, mailboxes, water main line and lateral services. This project is one of a very few in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties selected for such recognition. According to the President of
the APWA Inland Empire Branch, this project truly reflects the successful combination of engineering, planning, management, construction and public benefits.

APWA is a professional association of individuals, public agencies, and private sector companies dedicated to providing high quality public works projects and services in the Inland Empire area and throughout North America.
