The Little River Band, the Australian 70's rock and roll group, has been signed to headline the 2003 Family Fun Fest, Fourth of July Celebration in Moreno Valley. The Little River Band charted thirteen top 40 songs between 1976 and 1983 including Reminiscing, Lonesome Loser, The Night Owls, Cool Change and Take it Easy on Me.
"The Little River Band follows in the tradition of outstanding "oldies" entertainment for the Independence Day Celebration," said Moreno Valley Mayor Charles White. Past Fourth of July headliners have included Johnny Rivers, America, Three Dog Night and the Rascals. "We have set a high standard for our Family Fun Fest headliners and The Little River Band is a real coup for us," said Parks and Recreation Director George Price. "Our booking agent, Big Red Apple, came through big time for us this year. It will be a great show," Price said.
Additional acts for the Family Fun Fest have not been confirmed, however, Moreno Valley favorites, The Trailer Park Troubadours and The Richard Rausch Band, are expected to join the celebration again this year.
