Community Emergency Response Team class set
March 28 - 30
The City of Moreno Valley has scheduled the next Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class. The three-day class will be taught in the Council Chamber at Moreno Valley City Hall, 14177 Frederick Street, on Friday, March 28, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
"The class provides a great opportunity for local residents to learn how to deal with a major emergency," said Volunteer/Disaster Services Program Manager LeAnn Lawrence. "We've added a terrorism module to our CERT class, so it's very current and relevant to today's headlines," she said.
The CERT class trains people to participate in disaster response efforts and to work effectively with emergency responders. After completing the CERT program, participants can be confident they have the knowledge that enables them to help their family, community, school, church or business in the event of a major disaster. All CERT class graduates receive a CERT hardhat and vest and a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Certificate of Completion.
