It's time to secure vendor space for the Moreno Valley "Independence Day Parade and Family Fun Fest." The event takes place on July 4, 2003. Recipient of the 2002-2003 Press Enterprise Reader's Choice Award for "Best Community Event," Moreno Valley's Independence Day celebration includes a morning parade followed by a festival, musical entertainment and a fireworks extravaganza, all free of charge. This year's festival entertainment highlights "The Little River Band."

The Independence Day Celebration Parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall and will run north from Frederick Street at Alessandro Boulevard, then go west on Towngate Boulevard to the Towngate Shopping Center. This year's theme is "Reminiscing our Heritage!" Community organizations, church groups, businesses and individual citizens are invited to enter a float or sponsor a parade entry. Awards will be presented in several entry categories, including Bands, Marching/Drill Units, Vehicles, Equestrian, and Floats.

Prior to June 6, 2003, the entry fees for the parade are: $25 (resident), $30 (non-resident). After June 5, 2003, a $5 late fee applies. The last day to register for the parade is June 20, 2003. A completed and signed parade entry application and liability release form must accompany the entry fee.
