Indian Street bridge repairs set for
June 2 - August 15
Bridge repairs along the Indian Street Bridge over-crossing in Moreno Valley are scheduled for June 2, 2003 - August 15, 2003. The proposed work will result in partial closure of traffic lanes along the 60 Freeway and Indian Street at the over-crossing. There will be four nights of full closure of the eastbound 60 freeway during the duration of the repairs.
The first full closure (scheduled on June 4, 2003) will result in all eastbound 60 freeway traffic being detoured to the Frederick Street off-ramp then through Sunnymead Blvd. onto the Perris Blvd. on-ramp, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Following is the remainder of the schedule for the project and the type of lane closures that are planned:
Monday June 9 - Place girder on bridge. Full Freeway closure required.
Tuesday June 10 - Begin forming false work for bridge. Partial lane closure.
Wednesday June 11 - Continue false work for bridge. Partial lane closure.
Thursday June 12 - Continue false work for bridge. Partial lane closure.
Friday June 13 - Continue false work for bridge. Partial lane closure.
Construction for the week of June 23 to June 27 will consist of forming the bridge deck at night. This will require partial lane closures on the 60 freeway and no full closures. A full closure is tentatively scheduled for the week of June 30 to July 3. The full closure will be required when the bridge deck is poured.
Caltrans has promised to keep the City informed of the progress of the project on a weekly basis.
The Transportation Division will adjust signal timing along the affected route to facilitate the increased traffic flow. The Police Department will provide necessary patrols to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. The contractor's Project Manager is Jim Larrea of McLoughlin Engineering. He can be reached at 909.944.1037 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
