Moreno Valley and Riverside hold joint signing ceremony
Joint resolution promises greater cooperation between cities
The cities of Moreno Valley and Riverside are holding a joint signing ceremony of a resolution and Memorandum of Understanding that outline a new level of cooperation between the two cities concerning economic development.
The agreements are the result of meetings between representatives of the two municipalities who recently discussed economic development issues and activities impacting the two cities. The ceremony will be 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at the TownGate Fire Station (Station 6) located at 22250 Eucalyptus Avenue in Moreno Valley.
It is significant that the signing ceremony is being held at the TownGate Fire Station, which is jointly operated by Moreno Valley and Riverside. "The fire station symbolizes what can result when the two cities work cooperatively," said Moreno Valley Mayor Bill Batey. "Moreno Valley and Riverside have achieved joint success in the past and we know more great things can be accomplished if we continue to work together. The joint resolution and Memorandum of Understanding go a long way toward helping with that," Batey said.
Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge says the two cities enjoy a unique partnership that bodes well for the future. "The joint resolution and Memorandum of Understanding underscore the special relations between the two cities. We look forward to strengthening and building upon this relationship well into the future as we work on common problems and opportunities," Loveridge said.
The mayors and council members of Moreno Valley and Riverside, along with other officials from both cities are scheduled to attend the ceremony.
