Moreno Valley Fire Department and Lowe's Home Improvement
team up for fire extinguisher demonstration at
Moreno Valley's Senior Community Center
The Moreno Valley Fire Department and LOWE'S Home Improvement Warehouse will host a fire extinguisher demonstration on at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2003, at the Moreno Valley Senior and Community Center, located at 25075 Fir Avenue in Moreno Valley. LOWE'S will provide the Moreno Valley Senior Community Center with fire extinguishers and smoke detectors to give to seniors who need them.
Moreno Valley Fire Marshal Andrew Bennett says fire safety is important throughout the year, but the holidays pose special fire safety challenges. "The use of decorative lighting, extension cords, Christmas trees and flammable decorations can increase the potential of fire this time of year. Having a fire extinguisher in the home - and knowing how to use it - can make your home a lot safer, so we want to teach the seniors how to properly use the extinguishers," he said.
The Moreno Valley fire crew from Engine 2 is scheduled to conduct the fire extinguisher demonstration.
