Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District
Water Quality Management Plan
The County of Riverside, the Cities of Beaumont, Calimesa, Canyon Lake, Corona, Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Norco, Perris, Riverside, San Jacinto and the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (Permittees) are developing a Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) for the portion of Riverside County under the jurisdiction of the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board). The WQMP, when approved by the Executive Officer of the Regional Board will specify requirements for treatment of urban runoff and management of peak flow and volume from new development and significant redevelopment.
The WQMP is being prepared by the Permittees in compliance with the requirements of their area-wide municipal urban runoff permit. These requirements are specified in Section VIII.B. of Order No. R8 2002 0011 issued by the Regional Board on October 25, 2002. That Order can be viewed at website: www.swrcb.ca.gov/rwqcb8/html/riverside_permit.html.
A draft of the WQMP is available on this site from April 30 through June 1 for public review.
A workshop to discuss the draft WQMP will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District offices located at 1995 Market Street, Riverside, California.
Comments regarding the Riverside County WQMP are requested by June 1, 2004. In completing the WQMP, the Permittees will address public comments prior to submittal to the Regional Board on June 25, 2004. Comments received after June 1 will be addressed as time allows.
