Inland Empire Animal Shelters & Rescue Groups Partner
to Find Homes for Pets During Adopt-a-thon Weekend!
Friday, April 29th through Sunday, May 1st, 2005 will be a great weekend to adopt a furry friend. Many Inland Empire Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups have formed a Pet Adoption Partnership to participate in the annual worldwide North Shore Animal League America Pet Adopt-a-thon.
“Participating groups, including Moreno Valley, will maintain a running tally of Pet Adoption Partnership adoptions,” said Linda Wieczorek, Animal Control Administrator. “We’re thrilled to participate in any event that saves lives,” she said. The program has rescued more than 210,000 orphaned animals since it began in 1995.
The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will be opened Friday: 10am-6pm (normal hours); Saturday: 10am-6pm (open 2 hours later); and closed on Sunday.
The participants include: Animal Samaritans, Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, Orphan Pet Oasis, Ramona Animal Shelter, Riverside County Animal Services, Riverside Rescue, Riverside Humane Society, and Save-A-Pet. The Partnership also welcomes any community members who would like to help out during this event. For more information about the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, contact Linda Wieczorek at 413.3790.
