Street sweeping schedule now online!

Finding out when your street gets swept just got easier for Moreno Valley residents. The City of Moreno Valley’s Code and Neighborhood Services Division worked closely with the city’s GIS (Geographic Information System) specialists to create an interactive calendar available on the city’s Web site. The calendar provides street sweeping dates for your exact address.

“The street sweeping information we previously had online was not accurate, too difficult to understand, and could not easily be accessed by the public or city staff,” said GIS Coordinator, Michael Heslin. “Since July, 2004, GIS Maps Online has enabled the public to perform numerous functions from their home or place of business. Our goal is to provide easier access to more accurate information, and I’m pleased we were able to accomplish that with this project,” he said.

To access the Interactive Street Sweeping Schedule log on to the city’s Web site at and click on – Resident Services tab – Street Sweeping tab – then the New Interactive Street Sweeping Schedule. Simply enter your house number, select a street from the street names and click ‘Submit’ for your Street Sweeping Schedule calendar. A printable 12-month calendar is created, highlighting your street sweeping day in yellow. A small map of your property is included in each calendar.

Street Sweepers remove debris from city streets to prevent it from entering our storm drains. Street sweeping also helps the City comply with state and federal storm water quality requirements. The City sweeps approximately 14,000 curb miles a year and removes approximately 10,000 tons of debris each year.
