MVTV-3 to air 4th of July parade live

For the first time ever, Moreno Valley’s government access cable television channel, MVTV-3, will conduct a live cablecast the 2006 Independence Day parade. The parade begins Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. and lasts approximately 2 ½ hours. After the live cablecast, the parade will be edited to playback within a 1 ½-hour slot for time and replayed on MVTV-3 starting July 17th. The parade will air daily at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. until the end of July.

"MVTV-3 worked with our local cable TV operator – Adelphia – for more than two years to make this happen,” said Production Coordinator, Steve Jacobs. "The fiber connections were installed last year, and this year we bought a component that lets us generate a live feed from the MVTV-3 studio on Frederick Street,” he said.

Established in 1994 with an $18,000 grant from former cable operator TCI, Moreno Valley's government access cable channel, MVTV-3, has grown from cablecasting Council Meetings and text-only announcements to an award-winning TV channel that produces news, information, and special events programming.
