City Council holds special meetings

The Moreno Valley City Council will hold two special meetings to discuss the City’s General Plan and proposed fiscal year 2006-07 city budget.

On June 6 and June 20, 2006, at 6:00 p.m., the City Council will conduct a public hearing on the City’s General Plan. A General Plan is a document that provides guidance for the physical development of the City and addresses such matters as land use, circulation, parks and public safety.

At the June 6 meeting, staff will present the Housing Element and begin the presentation of the Land Use Element. The meeting on June 20 will be a continuation of the Land Use discussion, and time permitting, cover other Elements and the Draft Environmental Impact Report. Should the City Council need additional time to consider the Plan, additional meetings will be scheduled.

On May 23 and June 13, 2006, at 6:30 p.m., the City Council will meet to discuss the proposed fiscal year 2006-07 city budget. Continued budget discussions and budget adoption is scheduled for June 27.
