Moreno Valley City Manager Robert G. Gutierrez has announced that Chris A. Vogt (pronounced Voke) has been appointed as the City’s new Public Works Director/City Engineer. Vogt will lead the City’s Public Works Department, which includes Capital Projects, Moreno Valley Utilities, Land Development, Traffic Engineering and Maintenance and Operations.
Vogt comes to Moreno Valley from City of Pomona, where he has served as Public Works Director/City Engineer for the past five years. “Given the level of growth and development occurring in Moreno Valley, this new position will present me with many interesting challenges and opportunities. I’m excited about that. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work,” Vogt said.
Moreno Valley City Manager Robert G. Gutierrez said that Vogt well be an excellent addition to the City’s executive team. “Chris is experienced, talented and highly skilled. He will be very effective in leading the City’s largest department and representing the City’s interests regionally,” he said.
Prior to his position in Pomona, Vogt was Public Works Director/City Engineer in La Quinta, and served as the first Public Works Director/City Engineer for the City of Chino Hills.
Vogt has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He is married and lives in Corona. He begins his work in Moreno Valley on May 15.
