$10,000 Reward Offer from the City of Moreno Valley for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Evelyn Ruth Ryan in January of 2006
On January 29, 2006, Evelyn Ruth Ryan, aged 85 years, was found murdered in her ransacked apartment at the Eucalyptus Tower Co-Op, at 24169 Eucalyptus Ave. in Moreno Valley, by family members. Ms. Ryan had been brutally sexually assaulted and murdered by an unknown person or persons.
The unknown suspect(s) is believed to have entered the ground floor apartment via a bedroom window while Ms. Ryan watched television. In addition to the horrific assault and murder of Ms. Ryan, the bedroom, kitchen, and living room of the apartment were thoroughly ransacked.
Investigators have been seeking information regarding the identity of a black male adult who was seen in the area at the time. The black male was described as being in his 20’s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 180 lbs. He had a mustache and goatee, and at the time was wearing a white “do-rag”, Levi Jacket, black T-shirt, dark pants and white shoes. Investigators wish to interview this person.
Press articles, including a composite drawing of the black male subject and a plea for information, canvases of the neighborhood, numerous interviews and forensic and latent print analyses have failed to identify any potential suspects.
This investigation is now more than a year old with no new leads. The City of Moreno Valley has made this offer in the hope that it will prompt someone to come forward with information that will lead to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for this horrific crime.
