City conducting emergency operations drill
The City of Moreno Valley will conduct a full-scale emergency operations drill today from 8 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
As with other, previous emergency operations drills, objectives of the upcoming exercise are to test the set up and operations of the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and to evaluate the response and communication flow among multiple agencies to a major citywide disaster.
“We practice different scenarios every six months to improve our readiness to respond to major disasters or emergencies,” said Assistant to the City Manager, Angela Rushen. “Several local organizations, including HazMat (Hazardous Device Team), American Red Cross, Riverside County Public Health, and both Val Verde and Moreno Valley Unified School Districts will practice with the city during this exercise,” she said.
Residents may see some emergency drill activity taking place in certain areas of the city and should not be alarmed.
