City dedicates Moreno Beach Fire Station, No. 58

The City of Moreno Valley officially dedicated Moreno Beach Fire Station, No. 58 to Firefighter Christopher Kanton who gave his life August 6, 2005, while serving the citizens of Moreno Valley. The station, located at 28040 Eucalyptus Avenue just east of the Moreno Valley Auto Mall, is now the permanent home of City Firefighters serving the eastern portion of Moreno Valley.

The Fire Station houses the City’s third Aerial Truck Company as well as a Paramedic Assessment Fire Engine. The 8,848-square foot Fire Station is located on a three acre site and features an 896 square foot training room, which allows for on-site Fire Department training. The station offers accommodations for up to 16 assigned fire personnel and includes a complete fitness facility.

The Fire Department anticipates that the Fire Station will average 2,000 emergency calls for service per year. Assigned personnel includes: six Fire Captains, six Fire Apparatus Engineers, six Firefighter/Paramedics and three Firefighters, with seven personnel assigned to the station daily.

The Moreno Beach Fire Station replaces a temporary modular building that has served the community for 27 years.
