City to install second photo enforcement camera systemThe City of Moreno Valley is currently installing a second red light photo enforcement camera system at the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Alessandro Boulevard. The Public Works Department has contracted with Redflex Traffic Systems, Inc., to use photo enforcement cameras to enhance public safety. “We expect this system to start operating around July 2008,” said City Traffic Engineer, Eric Lewis. “These cameras target drivers who violate the law, and to use significant fines to deter other motorists from running red lights,” he said. To give motorists an opportunity to adjust to the new enforcement method, there will also be a thirty-day grace period before actual citations are issued to violators at Perris Boulevard and Alessandro Boulevard intersection. The other Redflex camera is located at the intersection of Centerpoint Drive and Frederick Street. For more information on the Redflex cameras, please contact Moreno Valley’s Transportation Engineering Division at 951.413.3140.
