City to hold dedication ceremony for
Community Park synthetic soccer fields

The City of Moreno Valley will conduct a dedication ceremony for Community Park’s Synthetic Turf Soccer Fields, Monday, July 14, 2008 at 10 a.m.

The 15-acre, $5.5 million renovation features high-quality, synthetic turf, four distinct soccer fields and an energy efficient, remote-controlled sports field lighting system.  The site also sports new fencing, landscaping and a sophisticated sprinkler and drainage system, which lowers the temperature of the synthetic turf during the summer months.

“The park is good for the environment and good for our soccer community,” said Parks Maintenance Division Manager, Steve Kupsak.  “The synthetic turf soccer fields will save the City about $33,000 in water costs each year, and the fields are easier to maintain than traditional grass soccer fields,” Kupsak said.

Community Park has been a main source of recreation for more than 24 years.  It is located at 13380 Frederick Street.  Call Moreno Valley’s Parks and Community Services Department for more information.
