Cartoonist to Appear Thursday as Library’s Summer Reading Program Concludes

Participants in the Moreno Valley Public Library’s Summer Reading program are invited to celebrate their accomplishments with an appearance by cartoonist Jim Gilbert on Thursday, July 23. Mr. Gilbert, who hosts the Cartoon Factory television program, will perform at the Library from 1:00–2:00 p.m. and again from 2:30–3:30 p.m. Ice cream will be served after each performance.

Due to limited capacity, attendance will be limited to registered Summer Reading Program participants on a “first-come, first-in” basis. When capacity is reached for the 1 p.m. presentation, a limited number of tickets will be issued for the 2:30 p.m. presentation.

The Summer Reading Program is an annual six-week program that typically runs from the end of the traditional school year through the end of July. Over 1,300 people participated in this year’s program, which was funded through the generous support of the Friends of the Library and numerous local merchants.

The Moreno Valley Public Library is located at 25480 Alessandro Boulevard. For more information about library services, call 413.3880.
