Moreno Valley Attracts Electric Vehicle Company

Today MVP-EV Inc. signed an agreement with CT&T America Inc., a subsidiary of CT&T Korea Ltd. to operate a regional assembly and sales facility in Moreno Valley. MVP-EV Inc. will be upgrading and retrofitting an existing, currently vacant 49,000 square foot plant on Goldencrest Drive to accommodate CT&T’s operational requirements for the production of electric vehicles. MVP-EV Inc. may be operational as early as Spring, 2010.

It is anticipated that 40 people will be employed at the facility at start up, with employment increasing to 200 employees by early 2011 and as many as 300 when the plant is fully operational at the end of 2011. The City of Moreno Valley will provide the company with access to the newly opened Moreno Valley Employment Resource Center when they are ready to commence hiring. MVP-EV Inc. expects to produce electric vehicles in Moreno Valley at a rate of 5,000 per year in 2011 and up to 10,000 per year in 2012.

Regarding the electric vehicle manufacturer choosing to settle in Moreno Valley, Mayor Pro Tem Bonnie Flickinger said, “The City is incredibly excited about this agreement because it will bring much-needed employment opportunities to our community. This is a high- tech “green” company that will bring quality jobs and provide a product that will make a significant difference in our environment.” For further information, contact the Economic Development Department at 951.413.3460.
