Interim City Manager Appointed

The Moreno Valley City Council has appointed William “Bill” Bopf to serve as Interim City Manager following the retirement of Robert G. Gutierrez. Bopf has over 40 years of experience in local government management, serving as City Manager in several cities including Tustin and Napa. His most recent experience has been in economic development with the cities of Delano and Pomona, as well as several years as a private real estate development consultant. Bopf also served as Executive Director of the Inland Valley Development Agency in San Bernardino.

“Bill’s extensive experience in local government administration, along with his economic development and real estate expertise, make him uniquely qualified to lead Moreno Valley during our transition to a new, permanent city manager,” said Mayor Richard A. Stewart. “The Councilmembers and I are pleased to have someone of his caliber on board and I know he will be a significant benefit to our community during his tenure in Moreno Valley.”

Bopf has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Michigan State University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He resides in Fallbrook.
