Parking enforcement “Sweet Thank You Program”

The Moreno Valley Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a special parking enforcement program called “Sweet Thank You Program”. The team visited several elementary schools in the city of Moreno Valley to assist with parking. The Traffic Team responded to the elementary schools at dismissal time and passed out the candy canes to the adults who parked away from the school property or walked to pick up their child(ren). Their actions reduced traffic congestion around the school and helped to create a safer environment for the children.

The Moreno Valley Traffic Unit wanted to reward the adults for their “good” behavior and promote efforts to reduce traffic congestions around the schools. 153 candy canes were passed out and the participants’ names were entered into a special drawing. The Traffic Team collected the names of everyone that participated and drew out four names to receive Starbuck’s gift cards. The winners were drawn on Wednesday and the gift cards will be mailed out the next day. The Moreno Valley Traffic Unit intends to conduct this program throughout the New Year.
