City Holds Second Annual Search for a
Moreno Valley Idol
In a quest to find undiscovered talent in and around the Moreno Valley community, the City’s Parks and Community Services Department has scheduled auditions for solo vocal performers to be showcased at the annual 4th of July Family Fun Fest celebration. The second annual “Moreno Valley Idol” competition will consist of two rounds of auditions; the best vocalists will be invited back to work with a music professional in preparation for the final showcase to be presented at Mountain View Middle School as part of the City’s annual Family Fun Fest celebration on July Fourth. The vocalist awarded the title of “Moreno Valley Idol” in each of five age categories will receive $500 cash. Second place winners will receive an iPod Touch and third place winners will receive iTunes gift cards.
Registration for the competition is $15.00. Contestants are not required to be residents of Moreno Valley and will compete in one of the following age categories:
- Minnies (5 years – 9 years)
- Juniors (10 years -13 years)
- Teens (14 years – 18 years)
- Adults (19 years – 50 years)
- Seniors (51 years & older)
Auditions will be held at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, 14075 Frederick Street. The first round of auditions will be held in a capella format on April 25, from 12 p.m. to10 p.m. and April 26, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The second round of auditions for contestants invited back will be held with music, no instruments on May 16, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on May 17 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
