Military Men and Women

The City of Moreno Valley encourages its residents to honor their loved ones who are serving in the military with a Military Appreciation Banner. Military banners are an excellent way to show your support for our military personnel and will instill a sense of patriotism and pride throughout our community.

“Our goal is to honor and recognize those men and women who are currently serving in the United States Military, whether they are defending the home front or overseas serving in Iraq and Afghanistan,” says Council Member Robin Hastings. “These banners will be proudly displayed on Cactus Avenue, near the main entrance of March Air Reserve Base, as well as on Veterans Way and Frederick Street.”

The City is currently accepting applications from the community for active duty military service personnel who are residents of Moreno Valley, who have immediate family residing in Moreno Valley, or who have graduated from a Moreno Valley high school. Applications are due by May 2 for a Memorial Day installation.

The military banner program is partially sponsored by the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee. The total cost for a banner to be created and installed on a city street light is $100. If you know of someone that you feel would be worthy of this honor, please contact the City’s Parks and Recreation Department at 951.413.3701 or visit www.moval.org. A sample military appreciation banner is shown in this release.
