MVTV-3 Wins Local Television Awards

The City of Moreno Valley won three cable television awards at the 2011 Star Awards held in Long Beach, recently. The Star Awards are an annual television awards ceremony that honors local municipal television stations from California, Arizona, and Nevada for their contribution to cable television programming.

Moreno Valley's hit adventure reality show, Mission MoVal, won first place under the Documentary category. The City of San Francisco and Piedmont were also finalists in this category, but it was Mission MoVal that was chosen by the Star Award judges. Mission MoVal follows three teams of residents as they traverse the City of Moreno Valley in an epic two day journey. This show was produced and edited by Rob Roseen, Bob Lorch, and executive produced and directed by Timothy Carroll.

Moreno Valley's monthly news show, News Center, won third place in the News Magazine category. The other nominees in the News Magazine category were the cities of Costa Mesa and Oceanside. News Center features coverage of local events, sports, and City programs. News Center is produced by Rob Roseen and executive produced by Timothy Carroll.

Pet of the Week won third place for the Special Audience category competing against the County of Los Angeles, and San Francisco Government TV. Pet of the Week highlights a dog and a cat that are available for adoption at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. This show is produced and created by Senior Intern Steven Morel.
