City Council Schedules Town Hall Meetings

The City of Moreno Valley is taking a proactive approach to communicating with its residents and businesses by hosting a series of town hall meetings, known as Council Connection, in each of the City’s five Council Districts. The first event will be held in Council District 4 in the multi-purpose room at Badger Springs Middle School, 24750 Delphinium Avenue, on Thursday, August 11.

Members from the community are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to meet and discuss ideas with City Department Heads. Council Member Marcelo Co will begin the event at 6:00 p.m. with introductory comments followed by a presentation from City Manager Henry Garcia. Additional presentations on the topic of public safety will be made by representatives from the Police and Fire Departments and the program will conclude with a brief question and answer session.

“The idea for the Council Connection town hall meetings came from the recent City Council goal setting workshop. As Council members we want to communicate more often and more effectively with our residents and businesses”, stated District 4 Council Member Marcelo Co. “This is a perfect opportunity to inform the community about what is occurring not only in their Council District but also throughout the City as well as an opportunity for me to hear what they have to say. I am looking forward to connecting with my constituents.”

Additional Council Connection meetings have been scheduled for:

  • August 25 - Council District 2 - Mayor Richard A. Stewart at the Sunnymead Ranch Club House, located at 23600 Sunnymead Ranch Parkway
  • September 21 – Council District 3 – Council Member Robin N. Hastings at the Commons Room at Vista Del Lago High School, 15150 Lasselle Street
  • October 6 – Council District 5 – Council Member William H. Batey II at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, 14075 Frederick Street
  • November 14 - Council District 1 – Mayor Pro Tem Jesse L. Molina - Senior Center, 25075 Fir Avenue
