City breaks ground on
Morrison Park Fire Station, No. 99
The City of Moreno Valley will celebrate the groundbreaking for its 7th fire station - Morrison Park Fire Station No. 99. - on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.
Located on a 1.4-acre site at 13400 Morrison Street (between Dracaea Avenue and Cottonwood Avenue), the Morrison Park Fire Station will enhance public safety in the general area east of Perris Boulevard, between SR 60 and Cactus Avenue. The Fire Department anticipates that the Morrison Park Fire Station will average approximately 1,500 emergency calls for service per year. Daily assigned personnel will include one fire captain, one fire apparatus engineer, one firefighter II paramedic, and one battalion chief.
Funded by Redevelopment Tax Allocation Bonds, the $5.9 million, state-of-the-art 9,772 sq. ft., two-bay facility will provide a fire engine, living / training quarters for firefighters, and will also include paramedic capabilities. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of October 10, 2011, with occupancy expected in October 2012.
