Measure G — The Local Moreno Valley Essential Services Measure

Measure G Banner

On August 3, 2021, the Moreno Valley City Council unanimously placed Measure G on the November Special Election ballot for voter consideration. If approved by Moreno Valley voters this November, Measure G- also known as the Local Moreno Valley Essential Services Measure — would enact a 1-cent local sales tax until ended by voters, that can be used to address the City’s current significant public safety, emergency response, and road repair needs, without impacting the essential services our residents value.

Moreno Valley is working hard to maintain the basic services our residents value, no matter what happens with on the Federal, State, or County levels. To ensure our long-term planning was rooted was in the community, we have been asking residents to provide their input on service priorities- and we want to thank the over 1,300 residents who provided their feedback. Some of the service priorities identified by your neighbors included:

  • Preventing robberies and burglaries
  • Maintaining 911 emergency response times
  • Maintaining the number of fire engines in service/gang and youth violence prevention programs
  • Maintaining safe and clean parks and public areas
  • Repairing potholes and roads
  • Addressing homelessness

Unfortunately, due to historical state takeaways of local funds by the State and rising costs for basic public safety services at the County level, the City need additional funds to ensure the service priorities residents have identified continued to be funded.

Please participate in the upcoming November Municipal Election!
