Moreno Valley wins 2001-2002 award of Achievement
in Information Technology Practices

The Municipal Information Systems Association of California has established the Excellence in Information Technology Practices Certification Program that recognizes exemplary Information Technology (IT) practices and is intended to foster peer recognition of achievements in IT practices.

The City of Moreno Valley's Technology Services Division has received an Award of Achievement from the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC), for Excellence in Information Technology Practices.

The award means that the City of Moreno Valley's Technology Division has demonstrated achievement in the areas of Budgeting, Purchasing, Operations & Staffing, Customer Satisfaction, Internet, Project Management, Professional Development, Security, Base Level Services, and Disaster Preparation and Recovery.

"The city's Technology Services staff is a group of talented and dedicated professionals. It is wonderful to see their efforts recognized by MISAC," said Betsy Adams, Assistant to the City Manager, and Division Manager for Technology Services.

Moreno Valley's Technology Services staff is responsible for the maintenance and operations of the city's computer network and telecommunications systems. The city's technology services staff includes David Ebarra, Joe Lara, Lea Deesing, Dori Lienhard, Michael Heslin, Stephen Jarrett, Gordon McDonald, Richard Kerckhoff, Scott Simmons, John Harding, Terry Streich, and Denise Hansen.

MISAC represents computer and systems professionals in all of the cities and special districts of California. The organization also serves as an advisory body to the League of California Cities.
