MVTV-3 takes two video awards at regional conference

Moreno Valley's Government Access cable television channel, MVTV-3, has won two awards for excellence for video public service announcements (PSA). The States of California and Nevada chapter of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, more commonly known as SCAN NATOA, presented the 2nd and 3rd Place awards to Moreno Valley on May 16 at the association's annual conference in Santa Monica.

"The MVTV-3 staff is a talented and dedicated group. It's wonderful to see their hard work and creativity recognized," said Angela Rushen, the city's Media and Communications Administrator.

Each of the 30-second video public service announcements aired on MVTV-3 during the past year. The 2nd-place winner, "Hit the Road," promotes trips sponsored by the Senior Center. The 3rd Place award was for the "Shopping Cart Retrieval" PSA, which encourages local shoppers to return carts to store parking lots. Moreno Valley was the only city in the Riverside/San Bernardino county area that received SCAN NATOA awards this year. The "actors" in the Moreno Valley PSAs are local residents.

SCAN NATOA is a professional association comprised of government access cable television managers and producers, cable television franchise administrators and lawyers and technical consultants who work with cities and counties on cable television issues.
