Mayor and City Council to Celebrate Grand Opening of Moreno Valley's Civic Center Amphitheater

The new Moreno Valley Civic Amphitheater

Thursday, June 24, is not just a special day because it's the official start of the MoVal Rocks Summer Concert Series, but it also marks the Grand Opening of the Moreno Valley Civic Center Amphitheater. Mayor Gutierrez and the City Council will perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. sharp to officially welcome guests to our region's premier outdoor amphitheater.

"Our City has long needed a public facility like this, a beautiful gathering place that can serve as a showcase for local talent and host local and regional events," said Mayor Gutierrez. "With COVID-19 heading toward our rearview mirrors, I am looking forward to welcoming thousands of Moreno Valley residents to enjoy our great new amphitheater.

The new amphitheater boasts state-of-the-art audio and video technology and will immediately take its place as one of the Inland Empire's premier outdoor performance venues. The Civic Center Amphitheater will host City events, such as the MoVal Rocks/MoVal Movies series, El Grito, Day of the Dead, Snow Day, and the Farmers Market, and cultural performances including Ballet Folklorico and a wide variety of other dance and music, as well as dramatic and comedic stagings. The Civic Center Amphitheater project was funded by developer impact fees.
The Civic Center Amphitheater is located at Alessandro Boulevard and Veterans Way. Please join the Mayor and City Council on June 24 at 5:30 p.m. for this special ribbon-cutting ceremony and stay for the exciting MoVal Rocks musical entertainment provided by Latin Nation.

El jueves 24 de junio no es solo un día especial porque es el inicio oficial de la Serie de Conciertos de Verano MoVal Rocks, sino que también marca la Gran Inauguración del Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico de Moreno Valley. El alcalde Gutiérrez y el Concejo Municipal realizarán una ceremonia de inauguración a las 5:45 p.m. en punto para dar la bienvenida oficialmente al publico al principal anfiteatro al aire libre de nuestra región.

"Nuestra ciudad ha necesitado durante mucho tiempo una instalación pública como esta, un hermoso lugar de reunión que pueda exhibir el talento local y organizar eventos locales y regionales", dijo el alcalde Gutiérrez. "Con COVID-19 dirigiéndose hacia nuestros espejos retrovisores, espero dar la bienvenida a miles de residentes de Moreno Valley para que disfruten de nuestro gran anfiteatro nuevo.

El nuevo anfiteatro presume con tecnología de audio y video de última generación e inmediatamente ocupará su lugar como uno de los principales lugares para espectáculos al aire libre del Inland Empire. El Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico albergará eventos de la Ciudad, como la serie MoVal Rocks / MoVal Movies, El Grito, Día de Muertos, Día de Nieve y Farmers Market y actuaciones culturales que incluyen Ballet Folklórico y una amplia variedad de otras danzas y música, así como puestas en escena dramáticas y cómicas. El proyecto del Anfiteatro del Centro Cívico fue financiado por las tarifas de impacto del desarrollador.
