Moreno Valley City Council Unveils New Moreno Beach Drive Bridge

On Tuesday, February 6, the Moreno Valley City Council officially unveiled the new Moreno Beach Drive bridge.
The bridge is the culmination of over two years of work reimagining the former two-lane bridge into a modern seven-lane span that provides smoother, safer, and more dependable transportation for Moreno Valley residents. The City Council joined City Staff, local dignitaries, and representatives from Skanska in opening the new bridge.
As Moreno Valley continues to grow, we are working hard to upgrade our infrastructure to serve our community better now and into the future,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “This state-of-the-art bridge represents our commitment to improving transportation and creating a more accessible and connected City for all. I want to thank our City Staff, our contractors, and all of our government partners at the local, state, and federal levels for their hard work, dedication, and cooperation.”
“With the completion of this bridge, the residents of my district will be able to access the freeway and the rest of our City easier, safer, and more efficiently,” said Council Member Ed Delgado of District 2. “I echo my colleagues in thanking our City Staff for their hard work and the Moreno Valley community for their continued support for this project.”
“This updated bridge will better serve our growing business and residential community in my district,” said Council Member David Marquez of District 3. “As our business and industrial sectors grow, we ensure our infrastructure matches and exceeds that growth. The Moreno Beach Drive Bridge Project replaced the 50-year-old, two-lane former bridge with a seven-lane span that features new pavement, enhanced safety improvements, and underground storm drain facilities to mitigate flooding. The new bridge relieves traffic congestion around the 60 freeway interchange, allows easier access to and from the freeway, and includes a new on-ramp connecting southbound Moreno Beach Drive to the westbound 60 freeway.

El Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley inaugura el nuevo puente Moreno Beach Drive
El martes 6 de febrero, el Concejo Municipal de Moreno Valley dio a conocer oficialmente el nuevo puente Moreno Beach Drive.
El puente es la culminación de más de dos años de trabajo para reimaginar el antiguo puente de dos carriles a un tramo moderno de siete carriles que proporciona un transporte más fluido, seguro y confiable para los residentes de Moreno Valley. El Concejo Municipal se unió al personal de la ciudad, dignatarios locales y representantes de Skanska para inaugurar el nuevo puente.
“A medida que Moreno Valley continúa creciendo, estamos trabajando arduamente para mejorar nuestra infraestructura para servir mejor a nuestra comunidad ahora y en el futuro", dijo el alcalde Ulises Cabrera. "Este puente de última generación representa nuestro compromiso de mejorar el transporte y crear una ciudad más accesible y conectada para todos. Quiero agradecer a nuestro personal de la ciudad, a nuestros contratistas y a todos nuestros socios gubernamentales a nivel local, estatal y federal por su arduo trabajo, dedicación y cooperación".

"Este puente actualizado servirá mejor a nuestra creciente comunidad comercial y residencial en mi distrito", dijo el concejal David Márquez del Distrito 3. "A medida que nuestros sectores comerciales e industriales crecen, nos aseguramos de que nuestra infraestructura iguale y supere ese crecimiento. Gracias a nuestro personal y contratista por otro trabajo bien hecho".
El Proyecto del Puente Moreno Beach Drive reemplazó el antiguo puente de dos carriles de 50 años de antigüedad con un tramo de siete carriles que cuenta con pavimento nuevo, mejoras de seguridad e instalaciones subterráneas de drenaje pluvial para mitigar las inundaciones. El nuevo puente alivia la congestión del tráfico alrededor del intercambio de la autopista 60, permite un acceso más fácil hacia y desde la autopista e incluye una nueva rampa de entrada que conecta Moreno Beach Drive en dirección sur con la autopista 60 en dirección oeste.
