Report Day Biting Mosquitoes
Two non-native, daytime biting mosquito species are spreading throughtout California. They are capable of transmitting deiseases such as Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile Virus, and Yellow Fever. Once established, these mosquitoes are difficult to eradicate. In order to control these mosquitoes, Riverside County Environmental Health is seeking the public's help to detect them. City’s First Animal Rescue Coordinator to Speed Adoption of Homeless Pets
In an ongoing effort to speed adoption of homeless pets, the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter recently hired Margret Linne as its first Animal Rescue Coordinator. The Moreno Valley City Council created this new position in January to work with rescue groups and local residents to significantly increase placement of homeless pets and reduce the euthanasia rate at the Animal Shelter. Margret works closely with numerous animal rescue organizations as well as individuals both locally and nationally to speed adoption of the community’s homeless pets. See the news release...

Historic Route 395 Dedication Event
The Moreno Valley Historical Society is hosting a Historic Route 395 Dedication Event on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is open to the public. The event will be held near the American Legion Post 574 building at 13892 Old 215. The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of Alessandro Boulevard and Old 215.  Activities include a pre-1976 Antique Car & Motorcycle Show, and displays by local historical groups and participation from the American Legion Post 574.  For additional information please visit the Moreno Valley Historical Society website. Independence DayMoreno Valley Independence Day Parade Entry Applications Now Available
The City of Moreno Valley’s July 4th celebration begins with a hometown parade. Community members, businesses, churches, non-profit organizations, athletic groups, and other organizations are encouraged to join the parade. This parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Frederick Street and Alessandro Boulevard. More than 3,000 residents and visitors line the streets to see a variety of community groups come together and showcase why Moreno Valley is a great place to live. City Helps Pet Owners, Free Spay & Neuter Limited Time Offer
The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is expanding the offer to provide free spay and neuter services for dogs and cats to Moreno Valley residents. The offer can be redeemed during a limited time with vouchers distributed on a first-come first serve basis at the Shelter. In the City of Moreno Valley, pet owners are required to spay and neuter their dogs and cats. This free spay and neuter program will help residents comply with the requirement and become a part of the ongoing effort to reduce pet overpopulation. See the news release...

Teams are invited to participate in fast paced 7 vs. 7 arena soccer. The league is open to players 18 and older of any skill level. Men’s, women’s, and coed divisions will be offered.
