COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT
The City prides itself on being responsive, as well as responsible, stewards of the taxpayer dollar. The City has reached over
30,000 residents in Telephone Town Hall sessions with Mayor Gutierrez, provided an interactive budget presentation for the
public at City Hall, and engaged thousands of Moreno Valley residents through electronic and mailed requests for feedback.
Through a series of community surveys, residents provided feedback about a range of issues, including satisfaction with
some of the services provided and issues of concern. Many of the residents’ past responses were used to create the City’s
strategic priorities and commitments. Some of the priorities identified by the community in those surveys included:
• Preventing robberies and burglaries
• Maintaining 911 emergency response times
• Repairing potholes
• Maintaining safe and clean public areas
• Maintaining crime fighting programs/gang and youth violence prevention programs
• Maintaining sworn police officers on the streets/the number of fire engines in service
• Addressing homelessness
The City continues to strive to identify new funding sources or means to continue to meet these growing community needs.
